I agree with your posts. Also a discussion forum is opinions, not just scientific facts. If people feel a certain way, they should be able to post here, especially if they live there.

If we just want blind facts we can read Frommer's travel guide. That is not the reason people come to these forums.

First, I have to stick up for mbmouse. She used to live in South Florida, and not that long ago, either, so she's quite familiar with the pros and cons of living here. And I happen to agree with the intent of her original post.

Having said that ...

"anyone considering moving there, visit and drive around. observe. take it in."

Even though I'm quoting the poster a bit out of context, this is probably the best advice I have seen on this thread. Use what you see on these boards as a starting point or to confirm things you've heard elsewhere, but do more due diligence before moving anywhere, whether it's South Florida or South Dakota. Visiting a place for at least a few days should be a prerequisite.

ok folks, this really wasn't an up for debate issue. Plane and simple, those that are here only to rant about the worst of everything with no real substance to their posts, either negative or positive or in between, it needs to stop and it is not the purpose of this forum. If you don't like the rules, there are plenty of forums around with no rules.
