Cool North Miami(not Miami Beach) safe for a white boy?

My 18 year old son is a college student looking at house rentals around NE 121 Street, North Miami 33161. He would commute to Univ of Miami if enough public transport exists. Crime stats seem to be a bit high. Anyone have any thoughts on this neighborhood for a college student living alone in this neighborhood. THanks for any info.

Downtown baltimore like dakota compared to overtown.

Miami a very small city when compared to most other cities and crime stats.
If my city was two times bigger, it'd be like imagine a pokabeans dat was twice it's size or a 2 ct that went on for bout a quarter mile.
Point is more ppl means more killing. More poverty means more crime. This where statistics factor in; we (black) are the poorest group in miami. But our population is so low here (that's how the rest of.america see it) that we're non existent. Which is why ppl always say miami is south america.
When the actual city of miami is made up of places like town, the city, lil haiti, etc.
Crime in hialeah ain't crime in miami, we barely be in hialeah, we prolly visit orlando more than hialeah or coral gables , etc.
Miami is still southern in our population, we jus a different type of south like conch wit cornbread.
