let me clarify
thanks for the replies. Let me clarify.
I am asking about the area (not school). I know where the area is located and have read the city data. What I am looking for is first hand accounts of the area. Is it nice? Would you live there? Why/why not.
Thanks

Coral Terrace is a Latin-American suburb of tiny homes, duplexes and apartments. Not a high-income area and definately not pretty. The homes are overpriced and traffic on Coral Way and 8th street backs up at the palmetto every "rush hour". Crime is not much of an issue and the biggest bother is the roosters crowing in the morning in some areas. Overall quite safe. I would not live there as it costs too much for what you get, but it's tolerable as an old friend lives in a shack near Coral Way and 67'th.

Actually, now that I remember it, I HAVE experienced Coral Terrace many times, I just didn't know that particular section of Miami was it. Like Tallrick said, it's definitely not pretty. Although he says it's safe, if you're coming from another area of the country it may come as a huge culture shock seeing this area and it's definitely not the type of area where you keep your doors unlocked (though, it's safer than many other sections of the city, and you should keep yourself protected anyhoot).
Here is the easy to read lowdown:
- It's pretty old looking, but it has many unique styles of homes you can't find in the new suburbs
- Despite what the 2000 stats say, I would say it's at least 95% Hispanic in this day and age
- It's not completely safe, but it's safer than many parts of the county
Also, tell us what you end up doing.
