Possible, but a Chinatown doesn't make a city. Does NYC, Chicago or Philly have a Little Havana or Little Haiti?

It's possible, but Miami does not have as long a history of Chinese immigration as some other cities with Chinatowns like San Francisco, NY, Chicago, etc.

It takes time for a Chinatown to develop.

An urban chinatown with lanterns on the streets, flags, banners, black market hubs...? nah.. that's urbanistically IMPOSSIBLE.

A chinatown like Monterrey Park? Well, in the event of a new Chinese immigration to Miami, YES... it's a plausible occurrence. But then, it will be just like any other neighborhood in Miami.

It probably will some day. I think it doesn't have a Chinatown right now cause it's probably about as far from China as anywhere in North America can be. Most of what Miami has to offer can be found in Cali - so why go all the way to Miami? I think that's about all there is to it really. Miami was built to be a playground for the Northeast. Sooner or later enough Asian folks will find the Carribbean's charms inviting and move in. I think it's just a matter of time.

This time it won't be Cantonese immigration though... they are going to come from deeper eastern, NW China. The Chinatown might be culturally different from what we usually see in North and South America.

That's already happening in NY, but not to extremes.

What you all don't realize that in mid Kendal there is a small Chinese community, mostly Cuban Chinese. There are a lot of Chinese in say the 82 ave and around bird and coral way ( cuban chinese) palmetto bay area, Pinecrest and east Kendall.

As far as having a China town I doubt it because the palmetto bay, Pinecrest area identify as American, born here. The east Kendall maybe but mostly not. the Cuban Chinese won't stick out, they assimulate.

I've yet to see a Cuban-chinese... I only read about them on this forum. The few Latam-Asians I've seen in Miami come from Peru and Brazil.
