Resorts World Bimini

Groupon has a great deal right now for overnight and day cruises. Has anyone been on this cruise? Is it worth it? It says food is included, cruise there and back and time on the islands resort.

Is the food decent, or is it a horribly cheap buffet.

How is the island, pools, resort area?

I went for the night cruise which is really just a club environment with all the girls hoochied out and dudes dressed to the 9's. (So Miami, right?)

The crowd was actually decent, no complaints from them.

However the way the ship was run was horrible. From the very beginning the ship was supposed to be boarded and set sale at 8pm, we didnt leave until 10:30. Securty just held the line, not allowing anyone to board. there was no communication as to why or what we could expect. Just a crowd forced to become restless. Then on the boat every bar was staffed with one person. The ship was sold out mind you, so if you paid in cash for a drink it takes 15-20 min to get your change back, (bye bye to whatever girl you were trying to chat up).

As for the island, you literally circle it within a 30 minute time frame and are heading back to the Miami port.

Now for the worst part, once back to port. the music stops and the lights are on and your ready to disembark back onto land to head through customs. Its 5am and everyone is stuck in a huge mass waiting for the next 3 hours for the doors of the boat to let us out. Once again, no indication as the why there was such a hold up only, another restless mob anxious to go home.

It was the most highly unorganized, cruise service I have ever witnessed. I recommend against it.

I bought one of the Groupons just to see what it's all about. I actually assumed that I'd have to deal with some of what City mentioned above, and I guess knowing ahead of time will make it a little easier to deal with (hopefully). For the price I figured what the hell.

That's what I was afraid of, thanks. For $50 its not that bad, but I have heard that you only get about 30 minutes on the island and its a lot of waiting. Maybe I'll hold out for another year in hopes that they figure this whole mess out.

And is this the same organization that is blowing billions on the soon to fail Miami Herald destruction project?

Yes, the same company that owns resorts and casinos around the world. They're also majority owners of Norwegian Cruise Line here in Miami.

I want to go but I want to stay on the island for a weekend. Leave Friday morning come back Sunday afternoon. Genting is also going to start seaplane service from Watson Island to Bimini. I would assume the flight has to return back to Ft. Lauderdale and then maybe fly o dr to Watson island as there are no customs in Miami Seaplane Base anymore.

Anyway, I am looking at spending a weekend there sometime but not just do the cruise.

We have a boat and go to Bimini every once in a while. Unless you are in to fishing, the island is pretty boring.

That is the point of the new resort. It has a casino now with some places to eat and drink too.

This was a nightmare, did the day cruise to Bimini.

Food was terrible
The trash of miami on the ship
Your in line more than anything, line starts an hour before you get to Bimini to get out and like starts an hour before you get to miami
30 min tender ride back and forth from the ship to Bimini eventually a real port will open so the ship can dock,
Bimini resort was nice they eventually will become Nassau in 5 to 10 years. Only in Bimini for about 2 hours.

This ferry service to Bimini is only really worth it if you takahe on a Friday to spend the weekend in Bimini then come back on Sunday.
