What car insurance company are you with and why???
What is the best and cheapest vehicle insurance company in Miami? Which one is most popular or is your favorite??
 And does anyone know if you need an appointment to get insurance or do you just walk in?Thanks all!

Geico has new lower rates as well as State farm. You can do it online or over the phone without any appointment. If you have your car paid, basic PIP is not mandatory anymore since Florida no fault law expired.

Rates depend on your individual driving history. State Farm and Progressive are known for great customer service and I've heard e-surance has great rates.

State Farm and Geico do not take customers who have not had continuous auto insurance coverage for 1 year previous to starting your policy (so if you are currently not insured -- even if you don't have a car -- you can't get a policy).
Just start calling insurance agents. They will run your driving and insurance history and give you a quote for the best rates. A lot of times, it with some insurance company you've never heard of.

Estrella Insurance is the cheapest...but there is a reason for it. I do interpetations, and many times there are depositions in auto accidents and Estrella ALWAYS fights ANY claim, they are one of the worst agencies that you could go with. You may save money if you don't have any accidents, but God forbid you do, you will regret not paying 20 dollars more a month. Generally, Estrella targets the immigrant community for their clients..but it is somewhat mainstream to their first generation children too.

Stay away from Estrella - they're an agency that sells United Auto Insurance

oh wow...no estrella for me...you've all been very helpfull thanks!! To get insurance one needs a florida drivers licence though right?and is there any other info they will ask for when i do it over the phone
