Miami Beach, Tampa or Orlando?
Where to move to and why?
Want to move to Florida for warm weather and the beaches (and YES I know that Tampa & Orlando are not on the beach...but close).
THANKS!

Tampa is practically on the beach .... Orlando is over one hour away . I like South Florida , but if I had to choose it would be Tampa as areas North still have a small town feel , people are friendly the cost of living is lower than in Orlando and much lower than in Miami . Miami / Miami Beach are fun to visit and the night life is great but other than that I do not feel the quality of life is anywhere near that of the Tampa / Clearwater areas . You can have Orlando as far as I am concerned all you have is the Mouse and not much else .
You also do not require a working knowledge of Spanish to survive like in some parts of Miami !!!

Tampa would be the best choice in my opinion unless you are looking for a big city party latin flava then miami.
I live in orlando and I like some areas but others are the pits, I prefer tampa but can`t afford to move there and all my family is here.

It may depend on how old you are, your financial situation, and how long you plan to stay.
Most likely you would not plan to raise a family in Miami Beach and plan to stay forever. If you are young and looking for adventure for the time being, it may be the best choice.
Tampa may also be okay for the above, but more likely, if your career and financial profile meshes with the local economy, you may want to stay there long term, also because the cost of living is somewhat lower than in southeast Florida.
Orlando may also be okay for the long term, again depending on how your career and financial profile meshes with the local economy. At that point, you'd also have to compare what Tampa offers to what Orlando offers.
I would also compare other parts of southeastern Florida (Broward and Palm Beach Counties) with Tampa on a long-term view.
I imagine that you are lurking on the Tampa and Orlando boards as well. Though there are complainers on both, it appears that Tampa wins over Orlando.
Good luck!

Tampa. Miami is an armpit and Orlando is too far from the water. Clearwater iarea is very nice too and close to Tampa.

And Orlando as well in many parts, but I like to try to learn Spanish along the way.

Most people in Miami Beach speak English. Anyone who calls Miami Beach an "armpit" or says it "sucks" needs to visit and analyze it and put down their preconceived racial notions that seem to rank above all else on this forum.
