LMFAO!!! There are some really mean ducks that curse me out in Spanish every time the parking lot floods at Walmart in Hialeah Gardens! I think the tough guy brown duck is a Marielito who used to sell coke back in the 80's!

DC = Iraq?? I suppose you haven't visited DC lately. Miami, DC, NYC and most major cities have bad areas as well as good areas....Do you live in a box? That is in every major city of the WORLD. Can you compare Georgetown with Southeast DC?? NO....Star Island with Liberty City??? NO .....with Charles Village (Baltimore) with Edmonson Village (Baltimore)?? NO ...Hyde Park Tampa with East Tampa Housing Projects???? East LA with Beverly Hills? You get the message?? Do you move to or visit Miami with hopes and dreams of hanging in the worst parts of the city? I don't think so. Let's face it, if you can't afford (to live in) a specific location of any city or if you are visiting and you are uncomfortable with the area YOU NEED TO REDIRECT. Americans watch too much CNN and don't take time to understand our environment. Once you understand our environment (which we only have ourselves to blame for it) we may one day understand the landscape of other places in the World....... This has exsisted since the beginning of time.... learn your History and Keep Your Head Up!

I lived in Miami for 8 years. At first, I kind of liked it. Then it begins to wear on you. It is a racially and culturally divided city of haves and have nots. Wealthy ultraconservative Cuban elites control the political and financial sector. If you appear even moderate on the Cuban issue you will be shunned and rebuked. Traffic is horrible and it has the worst and most aggressive drivers you will ever find. Housing is now way overpriced. Wealthy Latin Americans have bought much of the property - so many of the people here have, at best, uncertain legal immigration status. The poorer African American areas are pretty bad, and blacks have a lot of anger toward newer immigrant arrivals (some of it justified). There are some nice areas, interesting architecture, a pretty good cultural scene - but the price one pays in dealing with nasty people, traffic, crime, and humidity does not make it worth moving there. I don't mind a 3 day visit in the early spring or winter - but don't move there!!!

I would say that Miami crime is actually much worse than statistics say due to illegals not wanting to call cops and report crimes for fear of being deported.

OK what i have to say is that yes most parts of the actual city of miami are bad, but not really Dade county. There are good and bad parts of miami just as most cities have. But i would advise that if you plan to move here to not go to the most parts of the northwest, and places like liberty city, carol city, opalocka, little haiti, little havana, allapattah and others. But if you want places that are not too pricey try the more quiet parts of Hialeah which are not too bad to live in. Or Miami Springs, the prices arent too high or low but it is very nice, peaceful, has friendly peeps and is close to major highways of dade such as s.r112 and the Palmetto. The worse part of Springs is believe it or not the cops! They are so mean and nasty to people they question and pull over and try to get an excuse to put you in jail!!! But yeah overall its a great place.
But one person did have a point that people born in miami are used to crime and dont think too much of it, because when I moved to Jacksonville last summer(which i hate and it sucks!) and people learned i was from Miami they thought i was a crackhead or dealer and that i was a theif. So i just heard about crime all the time that i thought it was a regular thing and just a big a problem everywhere.
So I would just suggest that you come down here and visit for a week or so and look at certain areas and ask people for good places to live in and just see if you think you might like to live here .

Blackklight, now YOU ARE THE PERSON THAT DOESN'T KNOW WHAT HE'S TALKING ABOUT!. I've lived in Detroit for many years( 30), and I can honestly say that for the most part that if you use common sense and don't look for trouble, there's not gonna be trouble. I've lived in San Diego, Tulsa,Ok, Las Vegas and Toronto and the most scardest for my life that I've experienced was beautiful sunny San Diego Ca.
