Ditto. We plan to move to the area of Raleigh/Durham. How about you?

Move to Charlotte. I moved from Raleigh to Charlotte cause their was not very much to do in the Raleigh area. It is a nice place to raise a family, but if you are young and single and want more things to do, then move to Charlotte. Raleigh is nice, but almost one of those "roll the sidewalks up at 5pm" kinda towns.

It is chilly here in Charlotte this morning, it was 24. Suppose to be 48 for a high today and maybe 19 tonight. Normal highs this time of year are about 52 and normal lows are about 30.

Kinda funny, ALOT of Floridians are moving here, and ALOT of us wanna move to Florida.

Charlotte is VERY nice, but we still have traffic, road rage, drugs, drive bys, murders....what city doesn't...but in areas of town most people have no reason to go to.

Charlotte "city" has about 700,000 people and 2.2 million people in the "metro" area...so it is not that small any more, but a GREAT place to live and raise a family!

Another thing to remember is that your salary will be cut right off the bat. You wil pay about 20% in STATE income tax, which I don't believe you have in Florida.

Also not sure if you guys pay property taxes on your vehicles EVERY year, but you do in NC...but is still a GREAT place to live.

Our mountains got fresh snow yesterday and if you live in Charlotte, you can get off work at 5pm, drive 2hrs and be on the ski slopes at 7pm, ski till midnight and be back home by 2am...can't do that if you live in Raleigh, but they can go to the beach for the day, 2hrs away.

ALOT of people, you would not believe. When our mountains get fresh snow like last night, alot will flock and ski/snowboard till midnight and be home at 2am and go to work.

It isn't anything but a thing...who cares if you are tired at work 1 day.

I have done it many times, and alot of people that live within 2hrs of the slopes would make a road trip in a "NY minute"!

Traffic and rudeness is in NC ya know? But Miami's got the weather and the beauty. NC's got the Walmarts and Waffle Houses. If so many people in this metropolis of millions act rude and flakey to you, you might want to take the hint, do a self analysis, and make a personal change, not a geographic one.

And Miami has Wal-mart & Waffle House too. That has NOTHING to do with the price of rice in China!

Exactly. Florida has sunshine and "beauty", North Carolina has mild, distinctive seasons and mountains, which I think is beauty myself.

NC is beautiful. Mountains & beaches. Would like a little warmer weather though & to be closer to the beach (4 hr drive from Charlotte)!

It was 24 this morning and suppose to be 19 tonight. Warmed up to 48 today though!
