Anybody passed by Biscayne Plaza recently? i passed by there and they are demolishing the building for a CVS? I was hoping for something better but looks like that's not the case

Pretty soon we will have a bunch more of CVS since they are in the process of purchasing Navarro.

I'm looking at updates daily from the Upper East Side. I know there isn't any CVS in the area, but i was hoping for something better.

CVS seems to be on a mission to destroy every unique shopping area from the 40's-60's. They must be flush with credit from the Fed's QE program. They are doing exactly what Walgreens did from the 90's on. Funny because their old Eckerd stores are falling apart. I have a feeling they are going to get hit hard in the coming 2015 financial crisis.

No, Navarro is not going away. CVS is just going to be the corporate owner; they aren't going to convert any of the stores to CVS-branded properties.

Two more upcoming CVS locations I have noticed:

Washington and 5th, presumably they're closing the one one block away at Euclid and 5th, which will annoy some customers because of the parking.

Brickell Ave. and 12th(?), finally a convenient place for residents east of Brickell Ave. to walk and buy some necessities, much needed.

There is one coming to SW 8th St & 122nd Ave (SE corner). There was a 2-story building there with various offices which is being demolished, also a Wendy's that was just east of it. CVS seems to have a lot of cash, they were able to buy Eckerd (at least in Florida) a few years ago, but as a store goes, they are pretty sorry. I briefly used them for prescriptions, but had a falling-out with them and went elsewhere. At least, they updated those horrible uniforms (periwinkle shirts with a red CVS? Really?!?) At least the new ones look better (navy blue with the red CVS)

I am still trying to figure out who is giving them all the loans to build these future failures. The CVS they are putting next to Allen's drugs is in the worst possible place with Walgreens across the street. The CVS on Sunset and 117 is also across from Walgreens and is often empty, but it was built when the roadhouse grill property came cheap post bubble. Why they are throwing billions at a market in a property bubble is baffling. I actually went into the CVS across from FIU and was shocked how run down it is, with garbage cans to collect water dripping from the leaky roof and a front door that is ready to fall off of its hinges.

OK so the name stays. They are practically going to be CVS but with the same hispanic name in order to keep the old Cuban clientele, big deal.

That would serve absolutely no purpose. Hence, that is not what they are planning to do.
