Was the sun shining in any particular manner, and did the smell of the Holsum Bakery waft over to where you were?

Oh man. The Holsum Bakery? I can't believe I forgot about that. The smell was a little piece of heaven.

D'Pizza! That was a major staple of my diet when I was at the University of Miami. They would deliver even at 2 or 3 a.m. They had these garlic knots that you could squeeze and olive oil (?) or grease (?) or some combination of the two would come pouring out. It was great.

D'Pizza did have great garlic rolls but they were still nowhere near as good as the ones at Papa Nick's in S. Miami near Colonial Drive. Those were the best I ever had.

I agree, I lived on Colonial Drive. Remember Taco Romero across from Publix? He was a teacher at Killian, and owned a taco place too...

Anybody remember the Goody Bakery, in a little shopping center on Red Road, just south of Sunset Drive? I remember the luscious aromas wafting from the Holsum Bakery, too!

Y'all are breaking my heart
The Jr. Orange Bowl Parade , in the mid-60s was comprised of all-children, mostly from the Coral Gables Youth Center, and the parade was in the afternoon on Miracle Mile!
Does anyone remember "The Studio" restaurant - waiting in line.... the desert table It was worth the wait, wasn't it

Went to Kohl's in Town & Country yesterday and we were reminiscing on how it used to be. You could eat at the Food Court overlooking the lake and they had a beautiful carousel for the kids. I remember a place called Studebakers there too.
