I live in Homestead. In the Redland area of south Florida there are three of my favorite "fruit stands" or bakeries open. Burr's Berry Farm on S.W. 216 Street, between U.S. 1 and Krome Avenue sell the most luscious strawberries, home made strawberry ice cream, strawberry shortcakes and wonderful hot dogs! They also sell home made jams and jellies. Knaus Berry Farm, on S.W. 248th Street, between U.S. 1 and Krome Avenue sell strawberries, other fruit and veggies, home made breads, pies, and the most luscious cinnamon sticky buns, shakes, and sundaes. Roberts Is Here Fruit Stand is on the road leading to ENP (344 street?) They sell all kinds of really neat tropical fruit, jams, dressings, and wonderful milkshakes, including Key Lime. All these places are loved by the locals and a must visit if you have the time.

I was born on 1979 and came to Miami in 94 and have been living here ever since. I always wondered how Miami used to be in the eraly days and thanks to this site I have a little insight now. But most of these names really mean nothing to me without pictures and stories.

I'm not sure what you're replying to, but there was a farm stand just south of Sunset on the east side Galloway Road. I believe it was just north of the highway overpass; there was a tomato, etc. field where a bunch of houses now stand, at least through the mid-70's.
There were other farm stands, but I can't remember where they were.

Damn Don Carter Kendall lanes. That's where I learned to bowl back in the 80's. **** those are some good memories. Also remember when the PBA Tour use to go there. Met all my favorite bowlers back then.
