I thought there was one on US1 around 67th Ave and it turned into a Cami's. Cami's had $1 for a dozen oysters on Mondays & Tuesdays. The New England Oyster House used to have some all you can eat crab legs special if I remember correctly. I also remember a Howard Johnson's on US1. I remember the big dragon in the middle of Dadeland too. They used to fill up the fountain with cotton to make it look snowy at Christmas time.

There was a New England Oyster house at US-1 and 62 ave shopping center with a lounge next to it. Also locations at US-1 and 168 st and south river drive close to the scrap yards. We all miss the old Miami because even if you live around here it is all but gone.

I lived in Miami for a short time back in the mid 70's and being single at the time, discos are what comes to mind. Places like the 747 near the airport, Honey for the Bear on SW 27th Avenue, Big Daddy's on SW 37th Ave and Miracle Mile (I practically lived in that place), and the Merchandise Mart by the airport. Anybody remember these places?

I didn't know Andalusia bakery was gone, that place smelled so good. I was looking for it the other day like an idiot LOL
The other day I went to that Homestead pharmacy( Campbell & Krome) Plantover was talking about. I thought it was so unusual to have a diner inside a drugstore. I thought it was very unique. I guess many places were like that back in the day.

Rexer

I still miss that place. I used to go there a lot during the late 70's.
I still have a T-Shirt from Big Daddy's, it's all tattered. I use it to paint or to go to the beach.
Superb bands, nice people.
Do you remember the place by the airport where they played jazz?
Nice place too.
