Hi all, I'm going to apply to the U for grad school at Rosenstiel (Virginia Key) probably next year. This is pretty far out and things change, there's definitely no guarantee it'll happen, but I'm going ahead and starting the planning process.
I'll be visiting in January and being from NC I wanted to know a little about the area as far as stuff to do (Besides bars and beach, got that covered
), job market (I'll be a physics/oceanography major and a math minor, hopefully interning on the side), areas to live nearby (prices, good/bad), and crime. There are many threads that outline the latter and any more information would be great.

Hello, being close the key I would suggest coral gables, cutler bay area. Is a lot of college students there so parts are less expensive. Studios are under $800 to $1000 with every yhing included plus there are plenty of shared rooms if you comfortable with that arrangement.
