Default Miami is a Great City

Miami is a great city, the rest of the country has apparently changed into some type of meth, alcohol capital of the world. This is the topic of many foreign tourists as well as business visitors that see a very different US than the one that is portrayed in Hollywood movies.

To be exact, I just came back from a trip to Tampa and Clear Water, FL and Columbus Ohio, and OMG it looks just like the third world. People are rude, messy and only dress "ROSS for LESS" or "Walmart" fashion lines, while in Miami everyone dresses great, are not fat and disgusting, and they are in their own business, just like in any European metropolis.

Take a look at CSI Miami and you'll see how this city is the most modern and stylish place of North America thus far. In the rest of this "Hillbilly nation", it looks like everyone is a mad dog hooked on something like Meth, alcohol or antidepressants, it is just like a paradise for nasty, fatty, messy losers. Its kind of ironic that since Bush got in office, the entire country has become Hillbillies.

And to the weird ignorant 'hicks' with missing teeth that talk about other races. For your information, spanish speaking people arent all "one race" they are white, black, asian and indian and some are mixed from all of the above, just as with any other language, aka english. Would you say that everyone that speaks french or english is white? absolutely not. The same with spanish. So stop humiliating your nation and yourselves with such a blatant ignorance about the world and when you see the word "white' don't think only US citizens are included, it could be anyone of any origin that speaks any language. You guys need to get some schooling and stop watching Fox News or you'll continue to be permanently ignorant while the rest of the world progresses.

Again, to all of you that are thinking of relocating to South Florida and happen to be reading this forum and see some bad postings about this great city, the fastest and easiest think to do is just check CSI Miami, forget about the actors but look at the buildings, landscape and overall beauty and then take a trip to "any place" in the US, then compare, and you'll find the answer. Good luck

Yikes. I had mistakenly given you the benefit of the doubt that you were kidding. I even gave you a rep point, because it was very very funny. Unfourtunetly, I was mistaken. You were not kidding. You seriously think this place is what it is, as it is represented by a tv show. That has to be about the worst way to judge a place to live, good or bad. TV shows are made up, they are not real. This place is JUST as real as CSI Miami, or Miami Vice, or Fast and Furious 3 for that matter. That is not a good thing. I choose to make the best of my time here, but DO look at escaping eventually. Im all for people relocating here, maybe one will buy my house. PLEASE!!!

CSI is filmed in Miami, so why you even doubt what you can see on the show for over 5 years now?

and don't compare such retarded movie as the fast and the Furious with the meaning of Cinematography and my initial comment about the beautiful buildings, beaches, palms people etc on the show, they are real ! . Moderator cut: insults are not nessesary or allowed here
AND I do live here, and I can say over and over that Miami and surroundings is beautiful, modern and with style something that I and many haven't found in any other city of this country that's because so many have moved here. Of course if you are an older person and like older architecture and/or the anglo colonial lame, boring style, then you may head towards NY, NY or Boston or practically anywhere in the north but don't think everyone will be nice, polite and friendly with you, (ha ha ha) indeed there are just the contrary... and Polar like freezing temperatures or the 300 days a year cloudy rainy skies will make you another of them, a lame, messy angry and unhappy soul.

Miami is in it's baby steps of a major change, improving day to day and in a near future will became a "huge" hub and metropolis that will connect the Americas and Europe. The perfect hub for the intelligent ones, business entrepreneurs that want to reach something else in the world and not just this mad house near to a economic recession.

Sorry but Miami is a great City.

That was funny. I am a Miami and SFL lover...but you nailed it, most of CSI Miami is filmed in California. That information is readily available with a search engine search.

I love that show and was blown away when I originally found out that the headquarters was in CA. Since that point, I analyze every outdoor shot. I notice sometimes there is a brown haze in the air (obviously not here). I have a feeling that more of the show is filmed in CA than here, which sucks.

ok, so why don't they call it CSI Los Angeles instead?

So all the shots outside the police Department when they go up and down the stairs and when they drive the Hummer thru the incredible bridges around South Beach and downtown, are now shots of CALIFORNIA??? give me a break before I vomit.

Every 3 minutes CSI shows a shot of Miami's downtown, Brickell, the coast line of Aventura, Coral Gables etc but... apparently many of those who criticizes Miami are NOT living on these areas or do not have a clue of how these areas look like.

I know California well and it doesn't look like anything you see in Miami or CSI. California isn't tropical and sophisticated as Miami. So lets try another kind of lie because Miami is still one of the greatest city of this nation.

To the hater ones that cant afford cable, buy the following magazines:

"Florida Designs"
"Miami Style"

they show images of "Florida" not California.. ha ha ha

Anyone who truly loves south Florida can see that CSI is filmed in California. We don't have mountains, or rows of date palms 20 feet high. You can also see the dirty sky of California, not the clean beautiful sky of Florida. That being said, almost everything man made in south Florida is pure garbage. The look, the attitude, the system- all rotten to the core. You can see it in the way people act, and how they try to show off. Unfortunately many just look like fools.

Miami has serious economic and cultural issues that few care about. The economic instability and divided population will be more and more evident in the increasing crime and corruption of Miami-dade county. Comparing Miami to a tv show is just as ridiculous as calling the whole US a hilbilly nation. There are just as many...or more "fatty messy" people right here. But we all know that Miami lovers get excited by putting down everyplace else.

Miami is the hub of nothing but money laundering, property flipping and delusional dreamers. Time will show exactly how wrong the "Miami attitude" is. Stop ignoring Miami-dade's problems and help bring them in the open. Let's fix it!!

I completely disagree because I know many hard working people in Miami that make their money like any other good hard working person of any other city of the world. Stereotypes as "every one in Miami is a criminal" or "all the money of miami is from illegal activities" sound as inaccurate as pathetic and I cant even conceive anyone will say that about such a great beautiful city as Miami.

May I suggest you to consider relocation? they say hate is bad for your health,

thanks
