I don't think they necessarily have to be younger. What they need to be is honest and not controlled or bought by lobbyist, influential and well connected people, or powerful corporations. An effective approach to this problem would be to crack down on political contributions but I don't see that ever happening.

Political contributions should be banned, and or limited exclusively to non-profits (for citizen organizations).
