the % of African Americans is actually decreasing uin Miami Dade, not because there are less, but because other races and ethnicities are growing faster

Guess it's not a good idea to talk, or ask, about a certain race in any forum.

At last info of 2015, Jacksonville was made up of 30.7% Black. Where we use to live, south of Denver, CO, the percentage of Blacks was 5%. Compared to pretty much anywhere in the South, that is extremely low. I've been to Montana (90.6%), Idaho (89.1%) and Wyoming (92%) White. Sure doesn't leave much for any other race!

We are also right next Bahamas and Haiti and we get a good amount of immigrants from those countries.

This will answer all of your questions, go to page 52(on the document not on your pdf reader, page 62 in my pdf reader)

Firstly, the majority of black people in South Florida do not like being called African Americans because most have no ties to Africa.

Black people here are much more likely to emigrate from Haiti, Jamaica, or one of the many islands of the Caribbean.

AND, there are many black latinos.

Again you asked a specific question which was "Why are there so many Africans in Miami? and I asked you which Africans? You responded with :

[b]Black non-Hispanic residents.1/4 of Miami-Dade is black./B]

Sounds like you just want to know why Miami-Dade has so many blacks instead of "Africans" instead. Is that correct because you phrased your question in a vague way.

While this is partly true. Especially in present times where you'll find many black residents who've recently moved here are from many parts of the caribbean, you have to acknowledge and take into account the many black families who've been here for generations and the migrants who are in their family date back to the 40's and 50's. They're prevalent in oveetown, brownsville, liberty city and parts of miami gardens. Which would make sense seeing how those neighborhoods are historically black
