The schools in Miami have much lower ratings than they used to. What's changed? Have termites been eating away at the infrastructure?

What's changed?
  • Budget cuts to public schools
  • The 2010 merit pay law that disincentivizes teachers
  • Low teacher pay & very meager annual raises
  • Favortism for charter schools
  • Higher & higher teacher turnover (especially now that the economy has gotten better)
  • More & more required standardized testing
  • Etc.

You can thank Rick Scott & the Republicans for that.

My grandmother has her heart set on Rubio, and cries for some silly reason whenever she sees him. Frankly, She doesn't care about any of his policies, she just likes him because he's cubanito. That being said she's 93 so I don't fight her because well its easier to give her a hug and hold her hand while she rants about the TV.

That being said, the only thing we would probably agree on is that Marco is kinda hot and I could feel the fantasy!

But! There is no way in blue martini hell I would ever vote for that clown or the fascist Ted Cruz.

We are being invaded from all sides. At this point, I'd rather the Cuban immigrants (yes, immigrants) stand in like behind the Haitians, many of whom are in a far worse situation than the average Cuban.
But anyway, the most important thing is the law will be irrevocable, and will be ending that annoying political razzmatazz perpetuated by the junta.
Do you have a news article link, I would like to read that please for more verification. I did it myself

Crime today, street crime, seems more related to gang activity, and mostly from an ethnic group not originating in Cuba.
Possibly that should be more of a concern, since these other groups are in the US, legally, but temporary, "Protected Status" due to natural disaster or civil unrest in their island. There is no prohibition to become pregnant and start milking the system ther their US Citizen baby.
In my opinion they are more disinterested in integrating to the host culture, and not motivated to be productive, since just by being here is waaaay better that the conditions they've left behind (temporarily).

Honestly, I'm much more worried about culture of dependence, crime, violence, and gang activity on the part of well established American born citizens. As a well known historical figure once said, remove the log from your own eye before taking the splinter out of another's.
