I think I hear crickets.....do you know why...because it hasn't happened. Now Opa Locka is a different story. They have had oversight and the Feds have taken down more than their share of politicians in that city because of corruption issues. Please do not throw a blanket statement out there like that because it is WRONG!!! The politicians in Miami Gardens have done a fabulous job of beautifying the city and attempting to get things right. Yes, there are crime problems, but they are less than last year and hopefully will continue on a downward trend when other cities are trending UP due to the trying economic times we are in.
Many parts of Opa-Locka became part of Miami Gardens and Miami Gardens is the most dangerous city in Florida based on statistics.

If you're worried about standing out then don't be. Just go there and shop! There are Hispanics that live in Miami Gardens, though yes it is mostly black (though then again there are black Hispanics as well).

Yes I have heard that too, but I am thinkin that I am just going in to shop & leave, so I don't think there would be any problem; but just wanted some feedback from people who have been there i guess.

I'm not sure where you're talking about, but I've never seen a burned out beauty shop or a fish restaurant (whatever that is) in Miami Gardens. Especially, the description of them lining the streets. What is that? You're so mistaken. Do you even live in the Miami area currently? Have you even been to Miami Gardens recently?
