Did anyone attend the New Years Eve festivities at Bayfront Park? I am out of town & would like to know how it went. I saw them preparing the area & it seemed as it was going to be bigger than the year before.

Hi, I am new to Miami and am considering going to Bayfront tomorrow. I don't mind large crowds. I've visited the area during the day and it is beautiful. Just don't know if there's stuff to do while you wait for midnight or if there's a lot of standing around like in Times Square.

Thanks for the reply. Ft Lauderdale's celebration makes it clear that there are family friendly activities. Miami's is listed several places as family-friendly, but doesn't go into any details. My husband has to work today or else we would've headed up to Ft L's event.

I am from Indiana where it's too cold in January to even contemplate taking the family to a big NYE's event. Familes usually go to the Children's musuem or State musem for NYE festivities.

We're still debating whether or not to go. We're worried that our 4yr old won't want to walk back to the car, she is too big for a stroller. I completely spaced booking a hotel room for NYE.

We used to go years ago and it was family friendly with lots to do! It was lots of fun and some of our best NY memories were there. Have fun!
