If you dont have a job, I'd say enough to live off for at least 6 months. So $1500x6 for rent plus at least $3000 in deposits. Plus insurance, utilities, food, entertainment etc. I'd say, 30k would be a comfortable cushion to live off, assuming you are a highly employable individual and could find a job.

If you have to ask, you're not ready.

If you have to ask, you haven't planned accordingly.

Seriously, one person may have one set of standards and a way of living and lifestyle than another. Where they want to reside, buying, renting, etc. could be night and day than that of someone else. Living in one area of Miami can be quite different than another. But in a nutshell, it can be deemed expensive.

I hope your plans to move to Miami are far off in the future, after you've done your homework. Your plans can certainly change with a reality check of what it really can cost to live in SoFla

Edit. I see another thread by OP - seems he hasn't even finished his homework in school yet!

How much money should we save before moving to Miami?

Really, why not strive to go to college after you graduate?!? At the very least, take some Spanish courses if you aren't biligual!

Chill. The kid is only in 11th grade.

It's not your business to judge his future just because he hasn't graduated high school. On that post you mentioned, the OP is legit asking people how much money he needs to have in savings once he has graduated. At least he isn't asking this question in 12th grade.

Plus, what happens if he wants to move to Florida for school? And by the way, you don't have to be "old" to afford the lifestyle in Miami. I'm late 20s and doing very well without the help from mommy and daddy.

OP, the honest truth is that you will need approx six months in savings in case you can't find a job right away. I see you want to be a model. Do you have any experience? That industry is extremely competitive. Most cities you can live off of $15k - 20k (without a job for six months). In South Florida, you need around $30 - 40k.

Default Hi

Modeling is my primary dream. Im not quite sure what city I am moving to!? But once My twin and I are going to get a job we are going to save most of every penny of our check. College is something im thinking about. Its not that I don't want to go, its more of modeling is my primary dream and college isn't exactly required for modeling. Prior to moving to anywhere, of course I am doing my research. I am serious about the move. I am from a small town which would be a huge culture shock no matter what major big city I move to. I'm not one of those people who fantasize about moving some where.

If you really want to make it as a model, you should be focusing on the big companies that hire models. Live where they want you to work. That's a seriously cutthroat business, and you'd better do a lot of research.
