If you are a down to earth type I don't blame you for wanting to leave Boca.

And abuot Plantation, I was thinking more along the lines of something else...it's baaaaaad.

I know exactly what you're getting at with Plantation.

Like I said, I grew up down that way and only moved because I needed to be a little closer to some family after my divorce. And they lived in Boca.

Regarding Wellington, I prefer going to that mall instead of Town Center in Boca. I feel poor when going to TC. You get some of the uppity feeling in both Weston and Wellington, but that's mostly from the nouveaux rich vs. those that have been in the area for a while (referring mostly to Wellington on this one). When it comes to leaving the area, the final straw from me came in November/December when there was a bunch of extremely violent crime that happened in the area. One was isolated, but happened right in my neighborhood (robbery attempt/murder/house fire). Then there was the armed robbery/high speed car chase/shooting that killed an innocent bystander/standoff that involved police in riot gear that happened in December. And then just a few days later the incident at Town Center. That shook me up (and still does) because the little girl that was killed was in the same grade as my daughter. After that, I knew it was time to leave.

If you think that's bad then you should live in West Palm Beach Boca Raton is considered one of the lowest crime areas in the county... imagine what the more dangerous areas are like.

You might want to change your location title now, too.

I'm still in Florida.

And I know that Boca is one of the lowest crime areas in the county. That's probably why the recent events have shaken me up a bit.

It's a Native name so it would sound funny to a lot of non-Native people but, I actually like that we have a city name with Native etymological roots. I'm biased cause I'm a Native descendant

Actually quite believable... My boss' wife comes from this family that started a pretty big car wash machine business. And they are from Tamarac!

LOL, always thought that since I first saw the name. When I have Italian friends visiting it's even worse because they pronounce it with the accent on the A...
