Beauty, skin care, spa business in Miami/S. Florida
My wife is currently finishing up an intensive esthiology program at the Aveda Institute and will be in the market for a job at either a day spa or resort in the next couple months. What is the market like in Miami and the rest of South Florida for this type of work? Are there plenty of jobs, and what kind of salary might one expect? My wife is a native Russian speaker and fluent in English, although she doesn't know Spanish, if that matters. She'd be willing to learn, though.
We currently live in North Carolina where the job market is OK. I'll elaborate in another post about why we're looking at South Florida as a possible place to live, but for this thread, I'd like to stick to the issue of job opportunities for my wife in the skin care, beauty, spa business.
Many thanks!

I figured the industry itself was pretty competitive.
I guess my main question is on the availability of jobs in this sector - at established day spas and resorts, as well as why type of salaries are generally earned at South Florida spas and resorts.
