South Florida, especially Miami is BORING!!
What's left to do in this town but shop and go to an overcrowed beach or overpriced boring night club? There's golf courses, sure but too crowded. No affordable bowling alley, no waterslide parks, no mini-golf, no go kart tracks, what do people do there? I was visiting a friend and he was riding the atv around he yard and someone had the nerve to call the police! Nobody goes outside except to wash their car, so what do people do? I know that city people often make fun of small towns, but when visiting a friend in Alabama, Texas or Iowa small towns there's places to go, things to do but in a city like Miami it seems that you have to have a lot of $$$ to do anything. The overcrowded beach has no parking, and it's an ugly, barren beach. Downtown Miami has some parking, and if you're lucky your car will be there when you come back. Everything west of US-1 or I-95 is a wastelend and only homes, condos and shopping. Is there anyplace to go except for shopping malls inland?

Miami is called millionaire's paradise for a reason. It's not a city for the poor. If you got no $$$$ I can see how you would be bored.

The excuse that its for millionaires doesnt excuse its lack of...something; S. Beach is fine the first time you see it . Someone like Versace enjoyed it- the club scene is similar to NYC- if you are not into it, then it has no interest.
We used to go to beaches on the gulf coast/Captiva, etc.; the Boca beaches are small- but they are cleaner than Miami. From what I have heard the SW parts of Fl are now overcrowded too- what a shame. Anyone moving to Miami can have fun- just bring a lump sum of cash and rent on Bay Harbor Island/Surfside- when you run out of money though, you may want to reconsider staying down there!.
I liked Key West- but was only there 5 days- TallRick- is that getting ruined too?
Just my 2 cents!.

Here are a few fun thing to do in Miami, or nearby areas: sailing, windsurfing, surfing, scuba diving, bars-dance clubs, swimming, jogging, bicycling, competition shooting, explore everglades, monkey jungle...
Get off your butt and DO SOMETHING!

I have not been to Key West in over 10 years, but there's a lot more to do in Key Largo than Miami. Well that is unless the marine patrol chases you off, some places they don't even want you riding your personal watercraft. I take the waverunner through the mangroves and go for a ride, if I see them I just dash back in them and that's it, kind of adds to the fun! Never was into diving though, although this area is famous for it. We don't have a beach but can do everything else mentioned there. in Miami it's kind of difficult to get ocean access, as a kid we would go to this beach somewhere out of the way on Key Biscayne but I couldn't find it now for the life of me. Just seems like the more people a city has, the less freedom you have to do anything. Even in a relatively unpopulated place like where I live, the Northeastern mentality has taken away a lot of the free fun we had.

Now, that has some truth to it. About 2 years ago, some beach cop stopped me from riding my wind-rider down a streach of beach where there wasn't anyone, excpet for a beach cop. Acknowledged that I wasn't harming anything, but that some statute or ordinances prohibited wind-propelled devices any Florida beaches. Bicycles and cars are ok, just not wind toys

Also on Miami beach they don't allow cabanas, or atvs yet the beach patrol rides them everywhere and drives their trucks over tourists. I haven't heard about a stupid Florida law against any wind powered devices, it really shows what a stupid communist state we are becomming. So what do the cops do if you don't stop sailing, shoot you? Around here windsurfing is common, but we have no beaches either. To me a beach is boring unless you can bring some toys to have fun on an otherwise dull strip of dead sand. It's always because some idiot has an accident and the liberal lawmakers overreact and the public buys it.

Thank you!!! Jeez Louize!!! "I'm bored" - sounds like a whining teen with ADD!!! If you have an active MIND, (or an active bod!) you don't get "bored". I wouldn't be bored in a padded room! I'd just talk to myself! What's the world come to? -Rush rush rush, action action action, blah blah blah...Dear lordy!
