Apparently not and according to an article it seems the difference resides on the 23rd street. Are you agree with that?

here the article:

Miami beach and South beach are world-renowned beaches. Some may be confused when talking about South beach and Miami Beach, as they consider them to be the same. Though South beach is part of Miami Beach, the former one is more famous.
Miami beach is on a barrier island, which lies between the Atlantic Ocean and Biscayne Bay. South beach is part of Miami. The dividing line between the two beaches is 23rd Street. The north of this line is the Miami beach, and the south of this is known as the South beach.
Also known as SoBe, South beach was first started as a farmland. In the 1870’s, the area was purchased by Henry and Charles Lum for coconut farming. The land was later named as South beach. The city of Miami was incorporated in 1915.

Yes, SoBe ends at 23rd street area. (If you live near the W or Rooney Palace or visit there, you can park at the meters on 24th street and above for free after 6pm)
'South Beach' is 33139 but its not a city or anything, just an area. Its all Miami Beach from 1st to 87th street (That's where Surfside begins, which is 33154)...

Yeah, both the OP and the author of that "article" seem to be confused. As you noted, it's all the City of Miami Beach from 1st-87th Street, and South Beach (1st-23rd), Mid Beach(23rd-63rd), and North Beach(63rd-87th) are merely sections of Miami Beach.

I always like it when on TV and they talk about Miami, they show Miami Beach or Sunny Isles Beach.

I usually make it easy on myself by following the general rule:
33139 = South Beach
33140 = Mid Beach
33141 = North Beach (but it also includes North Bay Village, which is a separate town)

We'll have to exclude then other outskirts like Hammocks, Naranja, some part of the West, etc.

Are you seriously trying to defend the statement that South Beach is part of Miami, but the area north of 23rd Street is not? And that the area north of 23rd St. is a separate beach known as Miami Beach? That's absurd.
