Best Miami High School? People say we have the best public schools but I'm not finding any that aren't magnet. A good public school generally doesn't exist here? Not even in Pinecrest it seems. Your thoughts on an excellent high school?

The best education is when the parent(s) care and are involved with their child's education and development.

I agree, but would take a one step further back and observe that the best school starts with each student individually.

True, Miami public district high schools are not impressive, but, as long as the environment is safe from violence and in general not an obstacle to learning, most of them have enough resources for the astute and self-motivated student to earn an adequate education, especially with all the online resources out there available today, there really is no excuse.

That's the point though, not all can be AP material. What about average child with potential? In another district they will do well, here they are susceptible to mediocre teaching. It repeats the cycle of low wages, low quality workers in the city. Coral Gables High School which is desired is a mediocre school. It's not too far from inner city schools for the average child. I just don't get how people claim good schools if they just apply to magnets and above average students.
