c.c for me, and I go back even further than 8 yrs, in early 2011 I went from the battery operated ones to the widshield stickers, and that ended the few minor hic ups I had had until then.

I have to say, that if people still use the battery ones, ditch them. !!!

I finally decided to call them and after being on hold for over an hour (which indicates a lot of people are on the same boat) the operator states she cannot hear me, hence I would have to call later. I mean, really?

So I called Chase and disputed the five most recent charges. They credited me and I do not plan to get on the expressways until this douche**** do a professional job. At the end of the day I am a costumer and I deserve to be respected and listened to.
Why didn't you just do what I suggested a couple of days ago and simply delink your checking account? There's no requirement for you to allow Sunpass to automatically withdraw money from your account and that would have been a much simpler solution than reporting your Sunpass stolen. That way you would have still been able to use your Sunpass if need be.

You also never answered the question of whether the $10 withdrawals that Sunpass has been making from your checking account have simply been sitting in your Sunpass account as credits. If so, then the money is still yours and you haven't been scammed.

You know what? I would take Sunpass and all of it's alleged "problems" over having to pay personal income tax.

Pick your battles.

PS - I've never once had a problem with Sunpass or any of the other tollway accounts I've used in my lifetime.

That's an odd connection to make. One has absolutely nothing to do with the other. Their are plenty of states with electronic toll systems that also have a personal income tax.

Again, there is absolutely no connection or correlation between the two.

A lot of people have never had a problem with SunPass, some people have.

My suggestion is to link it to a credit card as opposed to a debit card that is linked to your bank account. If you ever do run into an issue, just let your credit card company fight the dispute with no loss of money from your bank account.

The more control you have over how and when money comes out of your bank account the better.

I don't have my sunpass account linked to any form of payment,I just add money when it gets low but lately its just been a pain as the account will just sit without any activity for 3-4 weeks and when activity does show up its all scattered,I drove to Miami for a weekend and probably used $20-$25 and of those tolls I drove thru only a .70 toll shows up for like 2 weeks then others show up but again just slowly and all out of order.I luckily dont need to use the expressways daily like others but I can imagine how this debacle has to be annoying many others, especially if they're taking money out of your account with the lack of accountability of your transactions,I'm just glad I never linked a card to mine.I have a family member whose account keeps reading a $38 balance but they've taken out $25 about 5 times in 2 weeks,he's tried to get the payment info out of the sunpass site and I've helped him but we can't figure out how to do it as theres no way it allows it to be removed, theres going to be an awful lot of lawsuits with this mess.

Yeah they stopped debiting people's accounts in June and they're just starting to slowly charge people the money owed so to not over draft people's checking accounts.

That's what the article above is about and the articles In July from people thinking they got away with free tolls for a month.

Love Sunpass. Just use a credit card to reload it manually.

Never had an issue (other than their recent technical website issues). I think they even didn't bill me for Alligator Alley toll while their system was down.

Never had a problem.
