Unfortuantely, most apartments in Kendall have converted to condos,
but Nob Hill is located between SW 107th Avenue and SW 97th Avenue on the South Side of Kendall Drive,
it is pretty decent and well-kept up, they accept pets and have very nice amenities.
Harbor Key Apartments are between SW 107th & 117th Avenue on Kendall Drive (North Side of street)
Further West, Pepper Cove is nice
(Around SW 137th Avenue, South of Kendall Drive)
Kings Colony (About SW 142 nd Avenue, right off Kendall Drive)

Sunset Gardens is ok, the top floor of the 3 story buildings have huge volume ceilings. The apartment complex is on the Southwest corner off of 72nd street and 107th ave.

Be aware that pepper cove is a poorly built complex that was devastated by hurricane Andrew. As mentioned above, most apartments have gone condo. This could be a blessing in disguise, as I know many people who have condos who need to rent them to pay the mortgage and high taxes. To avoid disaster from fire or storm, try to pick a complex with a concrete roof and floors.

See in these sites, they have lots of apartment communites and condominiums.
Apartments.com - Free Nationwide Apartment Search with the Most Visual Rental Listings Online.
Apartments for rent: Apartment Guide, your free apartment finder
Apartments for Rent and Resources for Finding Apartment Rentals Nationwide - ForRent.com
MLS Search - Free Miami Listings Search
The apartments communities/condos that I know are Monterey Gardens ( very good, generally well kept, gated and rent 1br/1ba for about $1,000-$1,100 ), Waterside Apts ( OK, OK kept and rent 1br/1ba for about $1,050 ), Dadeland Grove, Kendall House Apts ( good, gated and rent 1br/1ba for about $900 ) and The Gardens of Pinecrest ( OK and rent 1br/1ba for about $1,000 ).
All apartments that I cited are in Dadeland ( Downtown Kendall ) on the Pinecrest side ( right east of US-1, and most of them are on/near N Kendall Dr ) and are listed with more info on the sites I cited.
And for apartment ratings see this site:

FWIW, this site might give you some useful opinions on different complexes. Just search by zip code.

Good Point, tallrick, and I didn't know that about Pepper Cove.
Sunset Gardens is nice, kinda pricey, but nice.
Kings Creek has several privately owned condos that folks are hopeful to rent out, and it is a nice community.
It's off of Kendall Drive, Northeast of Sw 79th Avenue, (behind that Greek Orthodox Church) Kings Creek West and King's Creek South.
Good Luck!

The two options that Besitomio mentioned appear to be very nice from the outside (don't know anyone who lives there) and are in a nice area. My friend recently looked at a 1 bedroom in King's Creek for $1100 (I think that's what he told me) and he thought it was very nice.

As a I suggested to someone else:
I would suggest Dadeland, as it is a very nice area, close to a lot of major places, it's the closest part of Kendall to Downtown Miami and has 2 Metrorail stations (which will save you tons of time and money). Kendall is a very nice, safe part of Miami overall, but Dadeland would be my definite suggestion and your best bet.
