Default Cable Service Dilemma in Kendall

Ok...so i found the perfect little apartment in Kendall (Hammocks). Now after I signed the lease agreement and paid deposit, I found out that Comcast (TV and Internet) does not service that area. Can anyone tell me what cable service is used in that area? Thanks for any info.

Yea I was thinking of a dish, but I need internet service. Bellsouth is soooo much more expensive than comcast. I have had comcast 3 years now and I love it . Too bad they are not servicing that area :'(

Satellite internet maybe. Call your landlord or leasing agent to see what cable companies service there. "Cox" cable is pretty widespread.

Here in Downtown Kendall, some condominums/apartment complexes have Hotwire Communitications for Cable TV/High-speed internet. But I don't know if is that company that serves Hammocks too.

Default Cable Service in Kendall

We used Atlantic Broadband when we lived in Kendall - worked great and was pretty inexpensive.

According to someone that works at Comcast, they informed me that Comcast is the cable provider for that area. However, there is a possibility that the apartment complex that you live in may have an arrangement with a dish company which you have to subscribe with to get service.

As far as internet, if the above is the case where you live, you may have to go with another company since comcast may not be authorized to go into the complex.

Thanks Observer. I called the club house and asked them what service they use, and they said comcast. But when I called comcast, they are telling me otherwise...YIKES! I don't mind paying a little more if I have to, because I cannot live without internet...lol.

My co-worker lives in the Hammocks and gets DirectTV. He seems to think this is the best way to go and says the price is right on par with Comcast anyhow.

My neighbors have the satellite internet and love it. After a storm, I have to wait till the phone is up and running to get back on the internet, but my neighbors are up and running once their generator clicks on. So they never have to wait.
