Default north miami beach to coral gables commute

I just got a job in coral gables near UM, and I live in North Miami Beach. I've gone the I-95 morning route in the past, but it's murder! Does anyone know if another route is better? I'm not used to commuting a lot. I'm also considering the tri-rail/metrorail since my building is right in front of the university stop, but I don't know how dependable it is...

Metrorail itself is very dependable; Tri-Rail I cannot really say. Check out the train schedule online; if the train --> Metrorail route can get you to work in under an hour I would say to go for it!

I would definitely suggest taking Tri-Rail and Metrorail, you'll save yourself TONS of money and TONS of time, trust me please. Both Tri-Rail and Metrorail are very reliable and Tri-Rail has trains running every 20 minutes now during rush hour and Metrorail has trains every 3-6 minutes or so.

I've taken both systems A LOT and never encountered any problems. I have a lot of friends that take Metrorail and they are a lot happier than having to drive. Plus, you'll be green. So if you can take Metrorail, do it, you'll be much happier!

Yeah, Tri-Rail isn't fancy but it is on time and fast.

The Tri-Rail is just OK, and the Metrorail is better overall ( but generally the trains are not very well kept ). I ride the Metrorail 3 times a week and never had any problems.

And if you commute by car, try taking US-1 all the way down to Coral Gables ( UM area ); or take 826 west ( NE 163rd St/NE 167th St -> Palmetto Expy ) and then take Bird Rd eastbound until the UM area. Another route is: 826 west ( NE 163rd St/NE 167rd St ) -> SR-9 -> NW 27th Ave ( South ) -> S Dixie Hwy until UM area.

Tri-rail and Metrorail will ease your pain! I actually worked with a lady who was volunteering who had moved from India and had no car. She rode Tri-rail and Metrorail (and then a bus) from Boca to - wait for it - Deering Bay (south of the old Parrot Jungle on Old Cutler Rd). It took her a long time, but she made it on time every day. I was shocked!

You'll be fine.
