It will be even more interesting when the poor start robbing the rich enclaves, and carjacking them in their conspicuously expensive vehicles. When you have a large disparity between rich and poor, violent crime increases. Let's see if more of the world's wealthy can move to Miami so we have plenty of victims to keep the robbers well fed.

high cost of living + fewer jobs + more private and public sector job lay offs = people will do what they FEEL they need to do in order to survive.

Were you alive before 2000? 5% unemployment is historically VERY low.

its high when compared to it WAS down to under 4% before Bush took office. Bush senior left us with 7.5% (5.26, 5.62, 6.85, 7.49), clinton brought it down from 7 to under 4 constantly declining every year in the same time that bush raised it every year pretty much. see a little correlation between son and papa?
Clinton '93- 6.91 '94- 6.1 '95- 5.59 '96- 5.41 '97- 4.94 '98- 4.5 '99- 4.22 '00- 3.97 Bush '01- 4.76 '02- 5.78 '03- 5.99 '04- 5.53 '05-5.08 and still around 5 |

These guys aren't robbing armored trucks because they're unemployed. These guys are robbing the trucks because they're pieces of garbage that want to make a quick buck, and don't care who they kill in the process.

wrong. A ton of burglars are unemployed and thats their source of income is to rob people instead of work. Easy money. Its a very easy correlation between high cost of living, low wages, and unemployment to burglary rates. The more desperate people get to live the higher those types of crime go

They rather steal than get an education and/or work hard and live within their means. The opportunities to get an education are there for everyone.
