I am 40 year old divorced straight male. i am coming to miami for a long weekend in june. Not looking to hang out at the hippest places or spend as much money as possible but have fun and hang out with people closer to my age. Where should I stay an what bars should i go to as oppossed to "clubbing". I can fly to mia relativley easy out of my local airport in NC. If anyone has any input as far as VS Lauderale that would be welcomed too. I love the Bahia Cabanna! Thanks for the information.

If I were you might as well go to the bAHAMAS,Dominican republic,Costa Rica,Brazil........so many better places to go compared to Miami.Get a cruiseship if you are single, better to do that than stay in the "hood" called Miami.

Someone had suggested that i go to bahamas, brazil ect. well will only have a 3 nights and it is a very easy flight from home there. i have been to s. beach before but it was with other people. I am looking to relax by the pool or on the beach, meet some cool women and just have fun.

June is out of season so your 3 night stayat a hotel will literally be halved. I would suggest Hotel Essex, on 11th st and Collins Ave. $150-$180/night and you're a block west Ocean Drive. Hotel Victor is amazing; you will be sure to relax at that place, its the coolest place on the whole drag, but it is going to be more $350/night. There are jellyfish tanks throughout the whole hotel...

Stay in South Beach. You can find hotels in any price range. I would recommend trying Espanola Way (between 14 and 15 st off Washington) one evening. There are some great restaurants and it isn't typical South Beach - don't miss the beach, of course. The outdoor bar at the Loews and the Ritz Carlton are both good (these are great hotels as well). Have a drink at the Victors, you'll love it! The bar at the Leslie is an old Deco style bar that always seems to have interesting clientele.
