Default Staying in Miami Lakes?

We are visiting Miami in about 6 weeks and my mother in law chose a hotel in Miami Lakes. Is this a good or bad neighborhood? It's the Town Place Suites there. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

EDITED:
I just did a search for Miami Lakes and found some decent information.

Miami Lakes is a super nice neighborhood and it's very safe. Nothing wrong with Miami Lakes. Go to Main Street and walk around if you have time, it's a lot of fun and it's very nice.

rblues,

I usually stay at the Miami Lakes Towneplace Suites by Marriott for my business trips down to Miami. As a matter of fact, I am getting ready to check out in about 1 hour. My experiences at this particular hotel, as I tend stay frequently hotels every month for business, have been nothing satisfactory. The hotel is located in a business/residential mixed area. Very clean rooms, professional staffs, quite & safe location, plus closer to major roadways. The hotel is currently undergoing a major renovation on some of the rooms-upgrading, putting in newer room fixtures, furniture, etc. Good luck in your stay in Miami

Ciao

I actually stayed at the Towne Place Suites in Miami Lakes and it was a very nice hotel and area. It is right off of the Palmetto Expressway. There are lots of nice stores and restaurants in the area. The rooms have kitchens with a stove, microwave and refridgerator. There is no restaurant in the hotel.
