I moved from Russia and lived in Miami ever since 1993. I see alot of people asking for advise and alot of people whinning as well. My opinion, there's no other place like Miami in the world. Yes traffic sucks, yes people are rude, yes living expenses are high. But for those that been here long enough can tell you. There is no other place like Miami! It's a love/hate relationship. Evertime I travel somewhere, no matter how much I love the place, I always want to get home to Miami ASAP.

Friendly or not Miami is part OK, part third world, and part rich person's paradise. How much $$$$$$$$$$$ you have determines what Miami you get to experience. There are worse cities, yes but most are in other countries. Mostly immigrants love Miami, those born there will eventually hate it, given enough time.

I repeat myself again. Florida is an unusual place and that is the lure, as well as hook , line and even the sinker. It is a love hate thing tho. But again, I keep asking, if not here where? Especially, if not Miami, where can a lower income person reside and slide into the golden years withour great fear?
Also, reading the threads it seems that many people are just not happey whereever they live. Could there be another reason for such abundance in this unhappiness?

Oh, and I think California is great. Could never afford to live out there tho. Have met some of my best friends in life there.

I agree...but that love/hate relationship made me wanna move the hell out of here. It is a beautiful place, a paradaise, but the people is worthless; that killed this beautiful city.

Yes we is!!! And we're REAL!!! InGA explained it wonderfully in another thread pertaining to Detroit: East Coast & Mid West cities are REAL - if you're mad, in a bad mood, or whatever, you don't just "put on a happy face"!!!
That's not called "nice" it's called FAKE!!!!!!
Not to insult you, but that's the East perception of the West...
I'd HONESTLY rather have someone tell me they feel like crap than lie & tell me how everything is "greeeeaaaat" - EXACT quote from people I met from LaLa land...
The stereotype of plastic, air-headed people is REAL!!!
You just can't see it cause you're IN it...So you THINK it's "nice"...
Uh uh...It's hollywood...

Speaking from personal experience, but everyone I speak to from California always think they're better than everybody else, and also very judgemental, and at times racist.
