Cool Miami Beach Today ?

I'm the oldtimer from Coral Gables who remembers what Miami-Dade County used to be like in the 60s.

My mother lived on Miami Beach back then, around 71st street, in an apartment on the waterway, and I recall what the lifestyle was, the people, the restaurants, the beach, etc.

Can anyone describe what it is like TODAY living on Miami Beach, and what neighborhood do you live in ? House? Apartment? What are the people like?

I'm almost 70 years old now and "considering" relocating back BUT I'm trying not to compare what Miami Beach life was in the 60s to nowadays, because I know it will be very different. Thanks for any honest descriptions !

South Beach has gone through a huge revival and is roaring again just like it did in its previous heydays when Jackie Gleason, Marilyn Monroe and Elvis frequented. It's full of models and celebrities. The young and beautiful stay up and out all night long chasing each other around. North Beach is quieter, but apt to not stay that way for forever. My sister from NYC found MIA to be "too much" called MIA "wilder than NYC".
