Default Some new Miami-Dade scams, beware!

In the last month I have seen some interesting new scams to help raise revenue. First of all thousands of new all=way stops have been added this year, and spare police officers roam arouind the new (illegally placed) intersections to write citations. Now this next scheme takes the cake. The PSA (public service aides) "officers" have been writing citations for expired tags, defective equipment, etc in privately owned parking lots! They do this without regard for the law as they know their actions will never be accounted for. To make matters worse, these "citations" can only be challenged in the kangaroo court on NW 1st street. Miami-Dade county, you never cease to amaze and disgust me!

That doesn't make sense on several levels.

If tallrick works for Dade county, then I'm the King of Siam. (hint: I'm not)

No I do not work for the county. I have just been observing the police officers parked by the new stop signs in my parents neighborhood and have seen citations written in shopping centers. It has been a while since I have been in traffic court, but thankfully I have won each time. The trends in Miami-Dade county always seem to be bad.

Traffic tickets are a scourge. It is just rent-seeking by the government.

It is politically much easier to pass a bunch of laws that are impossible to follow and collect fines on them than it is to raise property taxes.
