Orlando's crime is worse in certain areas of the city, but overall crime and living conditions in many areas of metro Orlando are better than most of Miami.

Actually, it's the other way around. Give me Pine Hills in Orlando over Liberty City any day, but don't give me Orlando over Miami if I don't live in poverty. The OVERALL crime rate in Orange County is HIGHER than Dade. Yes, it really is.

I didn't say anything about crime, I was talking about feedback I get from people that come from Miami so take it up with them I was just relaying opinions from former Miami residences.

Also just because a city has a high crime rate does not mean is crappy to live most crime is in certain areas. Look at Philly around 400 murders a year but yet plenty of good places to live.

it would not be wise for you to move to Miami. Miami is not the place to raise kids, the education is poor down here, the pay rate for jobs is extremely poor, please don't do it, you need to make at least 65-80k to survive down here or you'll be homeless living in the slums of south florida..good luck

Every year worse state as far as crime list comes out this year Florida was in think top 10 and list credited Orlando for it.

if you're looking to move to south florida and you are a single mom, i would recommend palm beach county or west broward, rather than miami. you don't want to raise your kid here.

Miami is not a good place to raise a family...especially if you are a single mom.

If you insist on moving then rent for at LEAST A YEAR.

After about a year or two the novelty will wear off and reality will sink (probably sooner) and you can easily move some place else.
