Dude , you make me ashamed to say I have Hispanic blood . It is because of Hispanics like you that many "Anglos " and decent Hispanics are leaving Miami in mass . You are as bad or worse than the angry non hispanic posters on here ... please stay in Hialeah .

Gringo is used in parts of Latin America to describe an American or a European ... it is usually not mean't as a put down or an insult and in many cases can be used as sign of affection . As a kid I used to spend my summers in South America and all my local friends all called me " Gringo " which I took as a complement . Moderator cut: insults NOT allowed

So a Spaniard is a Gringo because he's a european? From my own ancestry in Florida I have Spanish as well as Hungarian and German. The definition of "hispanic" also confuses me.

That is so true. I went to Miami two summers ago and visited Little Havana. I am from Puerto Rico (born and raised) and speak fluent Spanish and English. Little Havana is all About Cuban culture. I thought because we are Latinos it was going to be easy for us but it was not. The second day we were looking for PR food because we could take "frijoles negros" no more. Our cultures are so similar but also so different and that was when I realized that. Here in the Northeast Latinos tend to get closer because we are less people but down there what a huge melting pot. But after all this bla, bla I love Florida and Miami. Now I am planning to move down to Miami in two years. And a gringo is a person that only speaks English.

Anyone know a good doctor in South Florida that speaks English? Fluent, native born English?
You and the original person who started talking about this will need your mouths (or hands) stiched, too. Florida was founded by Spaniards, then United States took over like they did with everything else. That is why Native americans are in reservations dying of hunger and dirt poor because white Anglos took whatever was good and left the dirt for everybody else to take. So after Cubans and others made Miami what it is now, p[lease do not complaint if you need Spanish to communicate there.

Hey, why don't you take your liberal leftist views and move back to your country of origin? Don't like it here in the USA? Get packing!

Please don't blame Cubans for all the problems in Miami.

The correct English would be "please do not complain".

I have met so many DYNAMIC, INTERESTING latin people from all different countries interacting with people in MIAMI (not so much Kendall or the suburbs, where the b-baller kids live)....I was almost taken aback at the dynamicism of their cultural attitudes..I learned to respect latin culture more.

Equally I have met many DYNAMIC, INTERESTING non-latin whites in Broward, Palm Beach, south dade, and have learned to appreciate my roots and enhance my pride in being an American....having my foot in the door with other cultures only makes me feel stronger about myself in my day-to-day dealings. So DADE (Miami, NOT KENDALL) has enhanced my intelligence...because latin cultural history and latin cultural differences alongside of that profer unheralded levels of dynamicism, at the table.

I am not trying to sound like a hard-assed intellectual, I am a little drunk (upset over a girl from school) and my emotions naturally have become magnified.

Much love to the world..todo el mundo
Chris

Carmen B...I have gotten close to so many Nuyoricans....the ones in miami are like extended family...I wish Miami cubans/colombians/nicaraguans were more like that...we could bring so much to the table.

Everyone has said, WHAT WE NEED IS DIALOGUE

I am sick of **** being spewed around town, what's good for us is not good for you.

And that's the problem, a psychological handicap and refusal to evolve, not THOSE DAMN LATINS

And the rednecks who accuse the latins of causing all the problems are just as bad.

I am a total gringo and am proud of my American heritage but ********* AND THE HORSE YOU RODE IN ON if I'm listening to Bhangra pop or Arabic music and acting seemingly totally unpatriotic.

I love my country, but I must apologize for an overall standoffish attitude towards anything REAL AND NEW

Again, much love to the world....I hope we can resolve our differences, one day

Ft Laudedale/Hollywood rednecks and northerners are infamous for taking rude behavior to the extreme..particularly the ex-New York Italians and Jews..they think they are exempt from accountability...and I've called some of them on their ****ty driving. THEY ARE DOWNRIGHT NASTY when someone dares hand their ass back to them. Actually, the ones that still live in Coral Gables/NMB/and Aventura can be even nastier, at times....but they live isolated. So it's not like you can get safety in numbers. The biggest concentration of this contingent in Broward live in Sea Ranch Lakes/ Galt Ocean Mile and frequent the dockside bars on the Intercoastal...LOVE watching boats go by in that area and the beach is quiet...

I tend to get along with Hollywood people a little bit better..because of the multicultural thing..but I'm sure if it was Hollywood, Fl c. 1989-1994 I would have hated it.
