You wouldn't know that going to a local Publix or Walgreens...

I think Milwaukee, Wisconsin is the city you are thinking about. In the 1880's, public schools there were taught only in German.

Oh, ok. It would be interesting to see. I know the Jewish population in Miami-Dade went down from a high of 250,000 in the past (1980's?) to around 100,000 today.

Dont really know if they like Germans, but they surely like to put down any other hispanic country in America. Psychologically that could be explained by frustration and insecurities...

Yet they should be grateful that ALL of our countries have hosted many of them on their way from communist Cuba to the USA. Wink Wink.

Very close... ~207,000 in 1980 to ~121,300 today.
Most of the alta cockers on the beach have died.

"Miami-Dade County, the eleventh largest Jewish community in the country, consists of 121,300 persons living in 54,000 Jewish households. Of these 121,300 persons, 113,000 are Jewish.
7% of Jewish households are in residence for 3-7 months of the year. Thus, of the 121,300 persons in Jewish households, about 7,300 are part-year residents.
The population in Jewish households increased from 178,000 persons in 1970 to 207,000 persons in 1980, but then decreased to 152,000 persons in 1990. Much of this decline is due to mortality, particularly in The Beaches and North Dade. A significant portion of the decline is also due to the migration of the Jewish population north to both Broward and Palm Beach Counties."
Interesting only to me?:
"In total, 31% of Jewish adults are foreign born, the highest of about 45 American Jewish communities."
The Real Florida Jewish Directory - Miami-Dade Map & Jewish Demographics

BUT I'm lost, what does this have to do with Germans???

Those stats are of percentage data. Im sure Miami has more Germans than all those towns of less than 2,000.
For example Miami lakes is reported to have one of the largest Arab populations in the country in percentages but Im sure when talking about actual number, Miami Lakes wont even register.

BTW what I meant by Miami was the whole are, not just the official City of Miami. Im looking for the line of articles that came out a while ago talking about the samll spike in German immigrants and Miami being the main settling spot for most and how Miami since the 80's has been popular with German immigrants. I cant remember if the articles said Miami had the most or near the top of the list but it did focus up on Miami alot.

As long as you are not related to Milli Vanilli there shouldn't be a problem.
