Certain qualities that don't scare so many white middle class folk away ie more English, tighten the spicket of immigration, and forcefully remove about half of the trash west of I-95 and transfer it/them out to the Everglades...

No way, keep the everglades out of this, send them to Atlanta or North Carolina.

Too much english in Miami would be just too boring though.

Ok, I'll re-route the garbage/filth train somewhere else. Too much English, naw... We could use more. I would be comfortable with the amount of English spoken in Miami in the 80's, like only at Cuban restaurants...

Spanish only at Cuban resturants and other cultural venues is what I meant to say.

Once the hurricane hits Miami will be in a depression for some time. It is no longer competitive in the world and Miami has been left behind by most major companies already. The only sources of income are drugs, real estate development and feeding off Medicare. The biggest employers are government. Miami is now obsolete and will become more and more of a mess as time goes on.

The only way to make this a world class city, is to make the people of South Florida world class people (which starts in our schools), that will attract world class business to set up headquarters here. As long as the quality of the employees stays at the level it is today, the world class businesses will not come to South Florida. They want quality employees. Once we have world class people here, the city will change.
