Miami Springs IS a dump. It's bordered by scarry Okeechobee Rd., Hialeah, the noisy Airport and 826. It's a host for ghetto clubs like club Zima and so on. Does that sound like "fine living" to you? Oh yeah.. It's also cuban so I guess it can't be a dump. Right!!!!
Miami springs is just as ghetto as Miami Gardens, Miami Lakes and sweetwater. I guess If you compare it to neighboring Hialeah it is "fine living". Miami folks really don't know much about decent neighborhoods since their only point of reference is Coral Gables, with it's high congestion and crime ridden streets. Travel elsewhere and you will see just how ghetto Miami springs and Coral Gables really are. I am originally from Denver, CO, but I also lived in Weston, FL for many years. What you get for a half a million in Miami is a disgrace! Half that amount buys you "real" fine living in Colorado, without the crime, litter, noise and low living standards.

My wife is African-American and she got tired of being called a "negro" by Cuban refugees. Colombians seem alot less racist and way more educated than Cubans. We never had problems with Colombians. Venezuelans are also decent.

Um no, you're wrong again. Cubans only make up about 27 percent of carol city's population and carol city is IN miami gardens. I live in carol city as well as attended carol city senior high school.

gosh I'm about to give up on this topic.

carol city is about evenly mixed between hispanic and black families. I would like to emphasize the family in that sentence. carol city is a middle class blue collar neighborhood. I live here. carol city is my home. without coming off as a chest thumpy braggart I will say that I could afford to live just about anywhere in south florida. I earn better than 70% of the people in the country. I enjoy living well within my means because doing so allows me far greater options in life than not doing so.

there is very little gang activity in carol city.

but consider the following question. what is a gang? is a gang not a group of people? I have nothing to fear from people. if you refuse to be fearful and have love in your heart but also the willingness to not be victimized, these things come across non verbally. people "know". you know this, we all know this.

quit fearing people because of skin color or national origin. doing so the epitome of ignorance. we are all part of the human family, just refuse to be a victim and insist on being a friend.

Some demographic resources can be misleading.

The reason being is that the majority of Hispanics claim themselves as "White", thereby splitting the actual Latino population between those who claim "White" and those who claim "Hispanic". This then gives the African-American population the official majority in certain areas when it is simply not the case. Also, A good part of Hispanics are of African descent and claim "African-American", such is the case with many Cubans, Puertoricans and Dominicans. That is why it is necessary to compile data based on "white alone" and "black alone" to be more clear.

Either way, Carol City isn't perhaps the worst neighborhood in SoFla, even if its reputation says otherwise. Decent people live in all neighborhoods, rich or poor and drawing these distinctions is simply immoral, although I also partook in it. Sorry!

50.87% of people are white, 37.88% are black, 0.58% are asian, 0.13% are native american, and 11.19% claim 'Other'.
