Default The Manhattan l & ll Apartments in downtown Miami

Hello everyone!

Is anyone familiar with this apartment complex? It seems too good to be true! There are studio-2 bedroom apartments from $475-$675. They are posting quite a few ads on Craigslist. Therem ust be sometihng wrong with this place. Is it a bad nieghborhood? The address is 560 NW 7th St (& NW 6th Ave.), Miami FL 33136.

I'm moving back to Miami to attend FIU and cannot (will not) live with roommates. Please give me the good, the bad, and the ugly. Thanks!

This is pretty much a slum.

Yeah, I accidentally drove through that area because a restaurant I like to go to is around there... let's just say I'll never leave a main road again :O

What is your price range for living alone? You might be able to get away with 800-900 a month though.

My price range is $750 w/o utilities for a one bedroom.. If it's a studio then $675 with utilities inc. I have lived in SOBE and North Miami Beach which I liked. It was really hard to meet native Miamians in SOBE, so I'd prefer to live around the locals.

That seems a bit too cheap but I believe it IS possible.

Found this on Craigslist when I narrowed for "south miami"
$750 / 1br - APARMENT FOR RENT 1/1 UTILITIES INCLUDED (SOUTH MIAMI)

Right, I don't know.

The listing is from Craigslist, so she can find it herself and call. (They seem to frown on posting links to some websites here.)

Your first building is located in an area referred to as "Overtown". It's a big hood, and that building is beyond garbage in the WORST part of town. I just want to reinforce what everyone else said.

See: Vista Verde Apts. just across the street from FIU. Nice place, semi clean, $950-$1050/month for a 1 br I think. Shady crowd that lives there. I actually had a buddy who had his Acura stolen from their parking lot, and he never saw it again. What does that say about affordability and value??? And this is one of the only 'decent' buildings in a part of Miami with a very "3rd world" or "foreign" feel...

The apartments you picked are in Overtown. I'm pretty lenient as far as bad areas but that's definately not a spot you would look to move too, especially from out of town. (Even though there was a large redevelopment project pending in the area but I stopped following it last year or so. I think is might of got shot down)

I know Kendall has some cheap apartments

Depends on how far your willing to live.
