Why pick on on each one of us that voted for Obama. We get it, you are a Bush lover (same as McCain lover). I am not blaming the old guard for the plague in Miami. BUT, I am blaming those that keep voting for the same candidates that promise a FREE CUBA year after year just to get the Cuban vote. CUBANS in MIAMI, wake up!! The Republicans have been using you for the last 50 years for their agenda. When are you going to realize that no one cares about Cuba except us (Cubans)!!! Sad to hear, but true. I just hope that with the massive migration of other Hispanics groups into Miami, and the younger Cubans affiliating themselves to the Democratic Party, maybe the whole Cuba situation might change for the better of the Cubans in the island. FYI, those Cubans 90 miles South wanted Obama to win....why? Because they know that's the only way change might come to them. Who knew...? Obama brought Change to the USA AND to Cuba.....

Now I know I will be label like a communist....or maybe a terrorist, or UN-American!!...spare me.

A change on the views by age. The younger Cubans are more open to changes than the older ones. The same translated to the new voters on this election.

As I review other articles and viewed some videos most of the younger voters voted for Obama and the "old guard" did stick to their older views. excellent post...

I think it's a generational thing between the older Cubans who remain staunch Republicans based on the policy towards Cuba and those of us born here, live here and worry about what is happening to our nation than Cuba.
Of course we are still tied to Cuba in many ways through relatives and culture and are always concerned but some of the things you hear out of the mouths of the older generation makes me cringe.

just my 2 cents!

I for one am elated that we are no longer die hard Reps and dont want us to be die hard Dems.
BOTH parties are failures and let them EARN our vote only lenmings blindly vote lock step and thus are ignored and taken for granted.

As a retired military member, most individuals associated with the military will vote republican because they normally receive better pay raises and more military funding for equipment under a republican government. I know first hand after 22 years in USAF.

I will agree... they should not forget the citizens, they work for us. Maybe the results of the election will make every public office incumbent realize that we have the power to deliver a pink slip...

Obama will acheive most of the things he promised because he has the support of the American people, whites, blacks and hispanics. Besides, Democrats cleaned the House and the Senate....so we can do as good as Bill Clinton did in the 90's, and please, dont' bring up the impeachment, that's old news.

I wish that was the case in Miami but once you get elected you have a job for life regardless how bad you are.

Incumbents here only leave in handcuffs escorted by FBI only to later return and run for office again
