You speak the truth about Miami. Most people I know hate Miami. The few that like it cant think of any good reason other than the "weather" they hate cold so much that the hot miserable summers are a minor hassle compared to the cold. Others were born in Miami and lived there all their lives and cant imagine a better world outside Miami.
To be honest when I was younger, I couldnt imagine living anywhere else besides West Palm Beach. It all seems so silly now to be afraid of change. You gotta embrace new things, not run away from them. I hope you like Boston more, alot of people dont like Boston though. |

NAH you know a lot of people hate a lot of things/places. There's a saying....one man's trash is another man's treasure.

after that lengthy piece , you have it all boiled down to Hialeah or Opa Locka. if you just said stay away from Hialeah, Opa Locka and places like that, i'm sure Will would wind up in coral gables, coconut grove, pinecrest, aventura or somewhere like that. sorry, can't buy your story.

Your post is slightly exagerrated but it's also partially true. Good luck in Massachusetts. I'm sure that you will be happier there.

I would disagree with that statement. I enjoy living in South Florida. I think some people can hardly believe that people actually are from Miami (and speak English). I've lived elsewhere, but Florida is home. With all it's imperfections it is still a nice place to live. My husbands family has lived in Miami over 100 years. |

I was born in south FL and lived there all my life but I see other locations being better than my own. I can do without the crime, hurricanes, 9 month summers, overpriced houses, etc. Even north FL is a much better location in my opinion than south FL. The summers are 7-8 months instead of 9 so this means less suffering in the heat. The crime is a third of south FL. Prices of houses are 1/2 to 2/3 of south FL. Plus north FL has better scinery, the trees are better

Need_affordable_home — I see you have seen the light. You are entittled to your opinon, not everyone thinks this is the perfect place. I happen to think that pretty much what you wrote in the original post is all true for myself too.

Coral Gables - who the hell can afford to live there? Pinecrest - too much traffic. Aventura - too far away, would involve taking I-95 every day. |

I prefer north/central Florida too, although in South Florida, there's a big difference between Dade County and Broward County, IMO. Ft. Lauderdale is a much nicer city than Miami. |
