Best Grocery/Market?
What's your favorite grocery store or market? I'll even throw in speciality gourmet food shops.
I usually go to Publix because they are in my neighborhood shopping center. I've tried Winn Dixie near me, but it's no different than Publix. I went to Wild Oats Market in Pinecrest today, but they are going through some kind of expansion and it's annoying to shop there right now. Are there other options?? (besides BJ's and Costco).
I wish Whole Foods was closer (nearest is in Aventura). I am not impressed with the quality of fruits and veggies at the stores. Or maybe I should visit a farmer's market or stand on Krome?
Any advice is appreciated!

Whole Foods just bought Wild Oats this week, so the Wild Oats in Pinecrest will be a Whole Foods at some point, probably. Gardners Market is a small gourmet style store, we like. Norman Brothers is also another great place. The Fresh Market in Coconut Grove also.

For a regular supermarket I like Publix moreso than Winn Dixie, Albertsons, or Sedano's. However, if you want fresh fish....go to a fish market. Not sure what is in Dade County. In Broward, I go to Captain Mikes or Two Bill's Seafood.
Specialty market in my area is The Fresh Market, only impressed with the prepared foods selection. Doris' Italian Market has lots of great Italian selections if thats your fancy.

Yup - Publix for "normal" stuff, (though at some of them they have a pretty good "green" selection I guess to compete with...) Whole Foods for all healthy stuff! (Although they do sell meat, so make that mostly healthy...)

I wish Kroger would come down here along with Tesco (from the UK). Those 2 supermarket chains would blow Publix away.

Norman Brothers on S.W. 87 Ave/ 78 St.(east side) has very good selection but is very very expensive. They make a mean shake though. My favorites are mamey and mango. They are a must have.
