I think that S Miami Ave. through Mary Brickell Village is the new Ocean Drive. I went there last night and had a great time. The area was flooded with restaurants of all different kinds: Rosa Mexicano, Oceanaire Seafood, P.F. Chang's, three Italian restaurants, one French restaurant, a five star sushi restaurant, two clubs (Blue Martini) and a really nice outdoor lounge lined with Rolls Royces and Ferraris.

As opposed to South Beach where everybody is a tourist and the fancy cars are probably rented for the day, Mary Brickell boasted a lot of people who looked like locals or at least 'transients'. It has a warmer, more down to earth feel than South Beach, however, without the beach!

I immediately noticed this when I moved down here. I like south Beach its nice and definatly for tourist and the occasional local but Brickell was much more my type of place, the area around Mary Brickell Village is great. Completely agree with you. Now lets just make sure the tourist dont find out about it. lol

Did they build an adequate parking garage in that area. I haven't been down that way for about a year and parking was always an issue.

You seem like you hang out with the wrong crowd. Have you been to Brickell lately? I think you have the area mixed up.
