That's not a bad place at all. Anything from 67th and up is decent. 57th is on the borderline. Don't move around 47th ave. It does get a bit dangerous at night especially if you are white and new to the area. there are some nice apartments located at 67th and Main St. You should give it a try.
I've been living most of my life near your new job and haven't gotten robbed or shanked nor ever witnessed an encounter.

Anything from Country Club/Miami Lakes and down to Doral and over to Miami Springs will be perfect. The job is in a pretty centralized area and surrounded by safe areas. Your job location is largely a warehouse area but close to great communities.

Or you can look in Doral- there are lots of nicer places that your rent would be fine with.

my family and i are moving to miami lakes. my wife will be working on nw148th st just off of the palmetto expressway. She wants a short commute, under 20 minutes. Any nice, safe areas nearby that we should look into? I heard stay east of the palmetto. is that true? Thanks Rob

I'd recommend Doral, Miami Lakes or Miami Springs.

"i want a place to live thats not TOO FAR"
what's your definition of this? I drive a 1/2 hour from Aventura to nw 25th street and the palmetto and have no problem with this after living in other bigger cities. When I moved to Miami 5 years ago I moved to Doral (NW114th Avenue) and was bored as hell. Nice area (sans the landfill smell) and close to work, but there is nothing in Doral.
If Doral is your choice, you'll just love the hiding motorcycle cops. Fockers!
