I will never understand why latin American countries are such a mess.

Its people.

I've done an "amateur sociological study" from years ago over latin america and that's my conclusion.
Bottom line, this is the situation. South America plus Central America and caribbean, have probably 20 times the natural resources of North America. However, those areas of the continent are only comparable to South east Asia, Africa. The difference is that in those Islands of South east Asia and Africa, there not that much natural resources and have a very dense population. So how it is possible that here we are sorrounded by poverty? I mean these countries have oil, gold, good soil, every single type of terrains, minerals, different oceans, everything. The only reason for that, is, its people. Massive corruption, lack of organization, no discipline, mediocre idiosincrasy, poor values and many many more reasons. Corruption by itself is capable of destroying an entire society; deep corruption automatically destroy the legal system and cut funds for better education. Deep cultural defects come from home. The real Hispanic heritage from Spaniards every day is less and less; it has been twisted and shaped into something insignificant.
They love their culture and system. It is just that "we don't get as much money from the sky like gringos do" so they come here to get the money and the benefits but giving the minimum possible in exchange and of course refusing to accept or tolerate any symptom of American culture; latin culture and Spanish language must be imposed here at all costs. If this country some day is destroyed, they move on into another one and repeat the story.
I'm sorry to write this but I have interviewed at least 100 people about the same issue. I'd say 90 of them think the same way. I think around 100 people from different latin countries, different social situation and levels of education gives a general idea of proportions, which sounds about right because the minority in latin countries who would like to establish a capitalist system with freedom and equal opportunities for everybody, is in a similar proportion; hence the socialism in south america spreading like a real cancer. The problem is, that minority who dreams with a capitalist system, are not the ones who come here; they usually have some type of business there, or long established careers so they suffer from what it sorrounds them but they don't move. The ones who come here (usually) are those with a very low level of education and are victims of their own decisions; due to the lack of education, poor culture and values, they believe in what they hear; they vote for those representatives, who keep them in poverty and the circle repeats again. They will never wake up. They will always vote for those who include the word "give" or "help" or "rights".
ok too much for now.
