Default Good- cheap restaurants in the Miami Area

Anyone know any "hidden" spots with a mom and pop type restaurant- where the food is good?

I really like The Big Cheese on US-1 and 67th Av near the Dadeland North Station. Really, really, REALLY good pizza.

I am sure that I am going to butcher this name since I don't speak Spanish but there's a terrific Peruvian restaurant on the NW 36th near midtown named "Delicias Del Mar" or something like that. Huge plates of Ceviche for about $12.
I also like Jimmy's East Side Diner on Biscayne and ~72nd Street near Belle Meade.

Haha just don't eat that stuff too often... fried, greasy food is good for a once-in-a-while snack (and usually cheap), but can be very fattening!

There are at least a dozen of these in downtown, especially east of Miami Ave, south of NE 2nd ST. Do NOT go north of NE/NW 2ND st though... Bring *cash* because a lot of places don't take credit, and ATMs are few and far between! Also note that alot of these places close by 7 pm. -B

YES. You got the name right. I spent some time in Peru and this place rocks.

Zuperpollo & Cafe Xixon for tapas.
