Check the streetview. I was stunned the first time I saw this in person. Zooming by on US1, you would never even know it was there. I used to think it was a forest.

Wow, I have been giving the boundaries by personal experience and aerial shots/street view and not only did I not know this tiny area existed, but I missed it on street view. It definitely needs to be rated a "2" - it's ghetto but it's probably not dangerous given its location. On the map it's called Highland Village Park. So, twiggers, if you are reading this, make Highland Village Park (east of US1 between NE 135 Terr. and NE 139 St.) a "2"

Twiggers, revisit the map around the North Beach/ Normandy Isles area. You accidentally have the east of Collins/west of Collins distinction reversed and have South Isle in Normandy Isle labeled as a "5" and not as a "4"

One more thing: some corrections on the Brickell area (all of which is west of I-95)
1) West of SW 1 Ave. up to the Miami River is a "3"
2) Everything below SE 15 Rd. but east of SW 1 Ave. is a "5"
3) The tiny area north of SE 15 Rd. and between SW 1 Ave. and S. Miami Ave. up to the Miami River is a "4"
4) East of S. Miami Ave. up to the Miami River is a "5"

OK....updated to include Crisp's boundaries from last night (the ones with Miami Springs & Doral, etc.). Also updated to include the Brickell changes and that Highland area.
Here is the updated, condensed map (the one that shows everything on one page): Google Maps
Please double check the Brickell changes, to make sure I got them right. Also, can you double check my Miami Springs canal boundary. That was the only canal that I saw!

Sooo....just glancing at the map and trying to fill in some blank areas...can anyone help with the following for boundaries/ratings:
That whole Homestead area south of the city (Leisure City, Princeton, Naranja), Goulds, South Miami Heights.
The residential areas around the Metro Zoo.
This tiny area of streets that is bounded by: SW 42st on the south, SW 157th on the east, SW 167th on the west.
This tiny portion of the downtown area that is bounded by: river on the south, NW 1st on the east, 95 on the west, and 395 on the north.
Thanks so much :-)

Also....whenever people have a chance (and we can wait until everything is filled in), we're going to have to start naming these places. Right now I just have 'unknown' put in for the neighborhood. So, if anyone sees an unknown and wants to name it, please let me know! And it's fine to be like Kendall, where I have Kendall 1-20....but at least people know where to search when someone says "Live in kendall".

Twiggers:
1) You have the Miami Springs and Doral boundaries correct.
2) Brickell still needs a little work. South of SE 15 Rd. but west of SW 1 Ave. is a "5" and not a "3".
3) Updated Miami Beach boundaries look great.
4) Go ahead and make everything east of US1 on the mainland south of Highland Park Village and north of Miami Shores a "5"
5) Surfside, Indian Creek Village, Bal Harbour, and Bay Harbor Islands should be a "5"
6) The area around Bird Rd. west of SW 157 is not developed yet, to my knowledge. There might be houses under construction there but I don't think it's inhabited yet... anyone been out there lately?
7) We are half done with the map! We can do south Dade soon, but north of 836 away from the beaches/bay and the western suburbs (Miami Lakes, north/west Hialeah, Palm Springs North, Country Club, Doral), I am very rusty and will have to really rely solely on reputation and aerial/street view to give ratings. We can name stuff later.

I personally think that richmond heights doesn't deserve a 2. It deserves more like a 3 and it's not that poor it's just a lower middle class, middle class black suburb.

Thanks for this input. I have made a distinction, though, between Richmond Heights south of SW 152 - which is a "3" - and north of SW 152 - which is a "2". Places rated "3" are average, middle class places, and places rated "2" are slightly below-average, working class places. Since I feel that the portion of Richmond Heights south of SW 152 is nicer and more well-kept than the section above SW 152, I gave them two different ratings.
